About American Airlines: American Airlines was founded in April 1926 and its headquarters are located in Forth Worth, Texas (USA) neat the Dallas / Forth Worth International Airport. This business was born when a conglomeration of 82 independent carriers, such as “Southern Air Transport” from Texas, “Southern Air Fast Express (SAFE)” or “Universal Aviation, merged to form one company under the name of American Airlines. At its inception, the airline offered routes from Boston, New York and Chicago to Dallas, and a flight from Dallas to Los Angeles.

In 1999, American Airlines was a founding member of Oneworld, which includes some of the largest carriers worldwide, such as Iberia and British Airways. Today, American Airlines is one of the world’s largest airline in terms of number of passengers transported and fleet size, over 600 aircraft (most of them very new ones).
